The Community Church of Sandy is seeking to be a church that is engaging the community to know, love, and live like Jesus. We want to encourage everyone towards being a follower and a disciple of Jesus, both within our church community and the larger community of Sandy, Oregon. We want to see people come to know and follow Jesus, be transformed by Jesus, and inspire others to know and follow Jesus. We hope you’ll join us in this process of learning to surrender to Jesus as we follow him together and tell others of his grace and kingdom. We hope that you will take time look through our website to get to know a little bit about us. Our Sunday worship service is at 10:00 am. We’ve tried to answer common questions below about our worship services, but if you have additional questions, please contact the church office at 503-668-4543.
What Is Your Worship Style?
We seek to be a multi-generational church, and because of this our music is purposefully blended. Though we tend to play more contemporary worship music with a full band, we do enjoy older arrangements and hymns. Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month and is open to all who profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
What Should I Wear?
We encourage you to wear what is comfortable for you. We have people who love to dress up and others who will show up in shorts and flip-flops.
Where Should I Take My Children?
Our children join us in the Sanctuary for the first half of our worship service. Children from Kindergarten through fifth grade are dismissed shortly after the worship to their own Sunday School class downstairs. We would encourage you to help check them in by following one of the teachers down, and then come join us for the rest of the worship service. Childcare for infants and pre-schoolers is available upstairs in our Nursery. All students in middle school and high school are encouraged to remain in the main service with their parents and their friends.
Are You Affiliated with a Denomination?
The Community Church of Sandy is Presbyterian in our theology and government, but our worship feels like a simple community church. We are affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Order of Presbyterians.
